Wednesday Morning... I didn't do any Celtic Tatting yesterday. Today I'm tatting hugs to send to Joy in OZ. It's a very simple thing that is also very complex. Easier to show than to tell.

The shape of things to come

There are many different thoughts I would like to post on here. Some are related to tatting and Celtic Tatting in partucular, others are related to my personal point of view, and yet others are related to family and friends.

I think that in the future I'll divide my posting here into three areas for consistency.

  • CTL: Celtic Tatting Log

  • PPOV: Personal Point of View

  • F&F: Family and Friends

I realize that the topics overlap. Everything in the Universe probably is part of everything else in the universe. Sorting and organizing thoughts is very closely related to the sets and patterns in our lives, which is related to our creative impulses and crafts or art. Tatting thoughts and ideas into threads of theories and truths. I like that.

Monday afternoon... Thomas and I played with my Lego mindstorms last night after church. He is very quick at picking up how to do things. We had fun. Today he showed his art teacher how to tat. :-)

I sent Wally's hugs off in the mail and writing a letter to go with them was not an easy task. I had looked on the internet for something to say that would comfort her, but I ended up crying for an hour of more at some of the messages on http://misschildren.org

After that I talked with my daughter Jennifer who is in Jordan for a few minutes and was relieved to hear that she is OK. The middle east is not a good place for Americans right now, if ever. But she is grown up and following her own path. Wherever it may lead.

I found this awesome Native American story yesterday, and it relates to one of my favorite passages of scripture...

Who Will Win?

An Indian grandfather told his grandson that there is a battle between two wolves that live within you.

One is evil and has anger, envy, sorrow, regrets, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, superiority, and ego.

The other wolf is good and has joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, empathy, generosity, faith, courage, honor and integrity.

The grandson asked his grandfather, "Which one wins"? The old Indian simply replied, "The one you feed".

Philippians 4:8
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

I saw a sign in a store this afternoon that I also liked:

Good Morning, this is God.

I will be handling all of your problems today.

I do not need any help from you,

so just relax and have a great day!

This is something I often need to remember.

It is Sunday afternoon, and I went bowling with my grandson, Thomas and our Church Puppet team this afternoon. I found it hard to concentrate on bowling. Wally and her family have been in my thoughts and prayers all day... Wilma told me about what happened while we were on our way to the Circle City lace day yesterday. I feel such a mix of emotions, sad, angry, frustrated that a drunk driver was even behind the wheel and could do such a thing. Confused too.

One thing I know for sure. God has a plan for good, and He will bring something good out of every situation. Praise the Lord anyway - that's what a friend of mine told me after her husband's funeral many years ago.

I believe that Wally will someday get to hold her precious three, and until they we'll all hold them in our hearts. They are in the arms of the Father, God. Now that I think about it, I know they're happy and safe in His care.

I just don't understand why God doesn't just step in and ZAP people who are like that before they have a chance to hurt innocent people. (Guess that's why He's God and I'm not, huh?)

I added a photo album on the Celtic Tatting List for hugs. Tatted hugs of course...

Lace day in Mooresville was awesome. I enjoyed meeting Georgia, and Gina, and everyone, especially the Dayton Tatters! I spent time buying butterfly thread, and hedgehogs and something that is a secret for now. Everyone had fun looking at my Celtic stuff, and it was good to see so many people wanting to get more into the Celtic Tatting. I can't wait to see all "your" Celtic stuff that you make now.

I'm looking forward to Palmetto!

Love & Hugs,
Ruth

Ok, Well lets start doing the blog - kinda sounds like a 60s dance step, but ok here goes...

I'm heading out to the Circle City Lacers tomorrow with Ruth W. and Wilma. This should be fun.

Yesterday I went to a knitting group in Dayton with my neighbor and setup a tatting workshop and book signing at Books and More on July 1st.

Today has been interesting I designed a new little butterfly and have an idea for putting them in a mobile. That should be fun to do with flowers.

More next time.

This is my first entry in blogger

I haven't been sure just what a blog is, but it looks interesting.
