Whimsical Celtic Knot bird


I will teach this Whimsical Little Bird at Shuttlebirds Workshop

Harry Canary is tatted with size 20 yellow Venus thread, and is just the right size for earrings, about 3/4" x 1/2" He is 3D and may be posed.

Students may choose to tat a different species of bird; BlueJay, Cardinal, Parrot - just pick the color of thread to match your favorite bird. Binoculars not required for birdwatching at this event.

Tatted Celtic Bird 1.75 hours 1 session only
Ruth Perry Level: Intermediate - Advanced Class Limit: Minimum 3, Maximum 8
Class will tat a whimsical little bird based upon a Celtic knot. Students must be able to tat rings and chains that are well formed and with even tension.

Students will learn or review finger tatting, beaded double core rings (eye), and hanging cluny tatting (tail), as well as weaving the Celtic knots from a tatted chain.
Note: Needle tatters must be able to work from a shuttle tatting diagram on their own.
Materials: shuttle or tatting needle, thread in size 10 or 20 or pearl cotton 8 in bird colors. Instructions and 2 beads for the eyes will be provided to each student.

Kit: $5.00, optional, includes instructions, beads, and hypoallergenic silver or gold tone jewelry findings.
